29/6/2021: Spot Offer: Rare 2010 Screaming Eagle OWC of 3 | Perfect Provenance

A rare 2010 Screaming Eagle OWC of 3 bottles on marketplace. A perfect wine in our spot offer today with perfect provenance: Coming direct from Screaming Eagle to our seller's storage in Wine Bond. These wines are as good as they get! Do note that these bottles are to be sold as an OWC of 3 bottles only.

25/6/2021: Small Australian Collection | Repost of listings

Some of the Australian back vintage collection we have on marketplace are awesome, and sometimes I wish there were more of these. Do they age well? You bet! This week's collection come from absolute perfect provenance.

At times, old Australian wines age really well, sometimes other old wines that we do not expect to be alive; it just takes one or two bottles for a revelation. Recently, I had two bottles of wine from Australia and Italy, both from the 70s, and drank excellently: 1976 Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz was medium brownish-red, and drank like an old Bordeaux, with notes of medicinal Chinese herbs, raisins, spice and dried leaf. Subsequently, the 1976 Ruffino Chianti Classico (bottle no. 34541), light reddish-brick in colour, with notes of tea leaves, tree bark, sous bois, and a little hint of burnt red cherry. Both held well for an hour.

This week's Australian wine offers are great, and certainly worthy of cellarage. For those who think some wines do not age well, think again. Go explore!

22/6/2021: Laurent Perrier Grand Siecle | Almaviva | Sato L'Insolite Pinot Noir | Price lowered on few listings

In this week's offer, we have an assortment of new wines and Champagne, plus some price drop on a few listings:

Laurent-Perrier's Grand Siecle, a prestige cuvée that blends the base wines from three vintages. The Grand Siecle comprises 55 percent Chardonnay and 45 percent Pinot Noir grapes, which the house sources exclusively from Grand Cru vineyards. Some of the best vintages are in the Grand Siecle.

Who can reject a micro-production, experimental, hippy, natural wine? Sato's wines are essentially "natural wines" that sources only from organically farmed vineyards, and there are no added yeast, enzymes, fining or filtration. There are only minimal Sulphur pre-bottling and made in miniscule quantities (Only 2 bots in today's offer).

Almaviva, a joint venture between Bordeaux’s first growth Chateau Mouton-Rothschild and Chile’s Concha-y-Toro. This partnership, formed in 1997, aimed to produce a single exceptional Franco-Chilean cuvee, named Almaviva and the first vintage was launched in 1998. Created from Chilean terroir under the French Chateau concept, the vines spread over 60 hectares in the highest part of the Maipo Valley (650 metres above sea level) in Chile's Central Valley. The soil here is loamy clay, sandy loam, gravel and rocks. The vines enjoy a semi-Mediterranean climate, with cool breezes from the Andes mountains and a great oscillation of temperatures between the days and nights. 2015 was one of the greatest vintage of the decade, a vintage of high concentration, beautiful colour and an array of aromas.

Lastly, some price drop on a few previous listings. These wines deserve new owners and in particular, the "2007 Domaine du Pegau CDP Cuvee da Capo" is a real good buy (considering the price drop). Available in bottles and MAGNUMS. Other price drops on Barolos, Brunellos and IGTs......Enjoy

17/6/2021: Rare Louis Jadot Chambertin Clos-de-Beze in MAGNUMS and Faiveley Chambolle-Musigny Les Amoureuses

Louis Jadot Chambertin Clos-de-Beze in MAGNUMS and only in auctions? Look no further...we have them in WineBond marketplace this week! Both vintages listed this week are mature vintages to drink, or cellar for few more years (considering they are in MAGNUM format). 2001 has always been my favourite vintage to blind anyone. Maybe it's just me, as I had a lot of satisfaction with 2001 Burgundies (as compared to some stronger vintages). On the other hand, while many drank 2007 Burgundies early; yes 2007 IMHO is still a delicious vintage today. The two listings of Louis Jadot Chambertin Clos de Beze today, comes in Rare MAGNUM format. Along with today's offer is also a listing of 6 bottles 2013 Domaine Faiveley Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Amoureuses. Don't miss them now!

15/6/2021: Second Wines of First Growths | I'd drink them anytime

Second wines of Bordeaux classified growths are great to drink; second wines of First Growths are even better. This week, we have two separate listings of Pavillon Rouge (by Chateau Margaux), and Le Petit Mouton (by Chateau Mouton Rothschild), both price to sell, and awesome to drink soon.

The young vines of First Growths, are what I like to drink when the wines are in their youth. For me, when they reach five years, the structure is formed and ready, while it can also be kept a tat longer. It also gives me an idea of what the First Growths are like, in years to come (if I get to taste the first growths to compare them side by side). Other than having vintage reports to back these wines, I also try to look for depth, complexity and completeness. On some mediocre vintages (for some), they outperform and those are the ones that keeps me interested in future developments. For e.g: My experience with a good vintage of Le Petit Mouton, the wine can be as good as some Second Growths! If we look at the price comparison of a First Growth and their Second Wine, I'd say give me their second wines to drink anytime! Let's look at today's listing.

11/6/2021: Two Superb Vintages of Montrachet "Marquis de Laguiche" by Joseph Drouhin

How often do we see a listing of Montrachet, or other White Burgundy Grand Crus on marketplace?.....Hmmm, hardly. Some of the greatest Grand Crus that always leave a lasting impression for me: Chevalier-Montrachet, Batard-Montrachet, Criots-Batard-Montrachet, Corton-Charlemagne (hard not to like the nuttiness) and of course, Drouhin's Montrachet "Marquis de Laguiche"

In my earlier days in the wine trade, when I would do sommelier service for private events or prestigious wine clubs, I get all excited and always arrive early to prepare and taste the wines, especially when its a Burgundy wine dinner. It was an acquirement of knowledge and tasting I was always grateful for. When there is "Marquis de Laguiche", that's a complete different kind of ecstasy......."The Marquis de Laguiche" is one of the best whites I make sure it's captured at the right moment, at its best before service......and then at the first sip, when the wine is ready: MInd Blown!

A Montrachet "Marquis de Laguiche" listed on marketplace? Now that's rare and an incredible opportunity to buy one (or a few). It will be like seeing a comet flash across the sky...Boomz!.....Now let's see these two listings below...

8/6/2021: Bell Hill | Calera | Littorai | Ata Rangi | Pinot Noir Galore

For all the Pinot Noir fans out there, this week we are releasing this assortment of New World Pinot Noirs from New Zealand and California.

Bell Hill is no stranger (but probably out of reach to some), to all the Pinot Noir lovers out there. From a husband and wife team whom always corrected that they are "Wine-Growers" and not "Wine-Makers", the Pinot Noir and Chardonnays come from limestone rich soils in Waikari, Wines that are always sold on allocation, these hard to get bottles are now available (some vintages) in our marketplace this week.

Josh Jensen is one of the Pinot Noir Gurus I respect a lot since I met him years ago. Over the years, we would catch up in trade shows and I will always look forward to tasting all his wines. His wines are the only way to get close to a Californian Pinot Noir, grafted from DXX vines (Nope I am not going to say it and for those who know and met Josh would have heard his side of the story). This week's offer is a collection of only 1 bottle each of the 2012 single vineyards, and 1 rare bottle of the 2007 Selleck Pinot Noir.

Littorai by Ted Lemon is another Pinot Noir that had proven that New World Pinot Noir do age gracefully. Its such a co-incidence that the seller had offered the 2007 Roman and Havens Pinot Noir by Littorai this week. Personally, I had kept both these vintages myself, and drank both wines last year including my 2006s and 2008s. 2007 Roman Pinot Noir to me has the funky nose of a Clos-St-Denis but after some years of aging, it has developed more earthly, mushroom and rustic characters, while 2007 Havens Pinot Noir had become more volumptous with age, and still has the Vosne-like minerals with dark fruits coming through. Both wines are great for drinking now. Don't miss also the 2014 Havens Pinot Noir and 2014 Thieriot Chardonnay (full rich bodied type) that can be aged further.

Last but not least, a small allocation of 3 bottles 2013 Ata Rangi Pinot Noir, a vintage that was "rising" as 2013 was one of the vintages that stood out for New Zealand and one that made dense and age-worthy wines.

From Bell Hill and Ata Rangi from the southern Hemisphere to Calera and Littorai in the Northern Hemisphere. This week is Pinot Noir Galore! Enjoy!

3/6/2021: Chateau Musar | Rhone | Champagne | Beaujolais | Others including Dominus and Verite

Wines from Lebanon? Anytime. Chateau Musar to me, is all Serge Hochar, an iconic man I met many times over the years. I remember clearly, the first day in 2015, when news about his accident and death was passed by friends in the trade. I thought it was a joke until more reports confirm it. An icon was gone....Chateau Musar is one of the wines which I always had a hard time in blind-tastings. Half my guesses were mostly Bordeaux, especially the older vintages. One night with Serge will change one's perception of Chateau Musar, as he will gladly pit his wines, blind against some of the best second or third growths. Don't miss these three back vintages 2001, 2004 and 2007.

Also in today's offer, we have some amazing Rhones up for grabs, Domaine de la Jannasse, and some 2007 Domaine Pegau CDP Cuvee de Capo (100 pts)....wait, it gets better....how about this wine in MAGNUM.....Yup

Next, we have some Beaujolais from amazing producers like Marcel Lapierre (in MAGNUM) and Jean-Paul Thevenet. Also, a small parcel of Champagnes from Jean Lallement and a rare KRUG Grande Cuvee listing (6 bots). Lastly, other assortments include a well-drinking 1999 La Mission Haut Brion, 2011 Flor de Pingus (Ribera), and both the highly rated 2009 Dominus and 2013 Verite La Joie..... Enjoy!

2/6/2021: Spot Offer: Markus Molitor Rieslings Limited Bottles

In today's spot offer, we have a small allocation of Markus Molitor (Mosel) Rieslings. Don't miss these hard to come by green and white caps (Riesling Kabinett and Spatlese), and of course, there is only one bottle of the Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel available. In tomorrow's offer, we will see some assortment of wines from different regions (like Chateau Musar from Lebanon, never listed on marketplace before) and other interesting stuff. Next week, stay tuned for more Pinot Noirs coming from the New World, highly sought-after for some of the best Pinot Noirs one can (hardly) find. Stay safe.....

27/5/2021: HUGE Burgundy Wine Collection You Have Been Waiting For

I love Burgundies, it's my first love since I started on this Journey. Like many Burgundy lovers, I miss my visits to Dijon and Beaune. Those visits to Burgundy were like going on a pilgrimage.

While we try and put in effort to build the list of Burgundy in our marketplace, these bottles are always highly demanded. Today's offering: A HUGE Burgundy list that you had been waiting for. The whites are amazing esp the Etienne Sauzet and Morey Coffinet. A Roblot Monnot and Hudelot-Noellat assortments, then some Rare Premier Cru and Grand Crus assortments of star-studded producers (Meo Camuzet, Bruno Clair, Comte Armand, Joseph Roty, Anne Gros).....Let's cut to the chase......

25/5/2021: MAGNUM and JEROBOAMS plus a Collection of Italian Wines

In our Tuesday marketplace offer, we have a fresh list of Italian gems. To add to our growing list, the collector (who offered these wines) has graciously listed some rare MAGNUM and JEROBOAMS, that are really hard to come by. Most of the listings today will be alluring with the ratings, but look beyond that as there are some really well-drinking bottles, some over fifteen years of age. And of course, if you are interested in the MAGNUM and JEROBOAMS, they can be aged further.

Do note that some wine listings you see may be duplicated from previous offers, but prices for identical wines from different sellers will not vary too much (this is a friendly community). If there is a previous listing you missed, don't miss them this time.

Note that Wednesday is a Public Holiday but we will be back on Thursday, and there will be a huge Burgundy offer coming. For purchases from Tuesday and Thursday's offers, we will only send out the invoice on Thursday afternoon (for the benefit of some buyers who would like to consolidate their purchases). Stay tuned and stay safe!.....RS

24/5/2021: Monday Spots: Eight Superb Offers From a Respectable Connoisseur

We start Monday with eight offers from a respectable connoisseur, let's cut to the chase: See below for these rarities and: two of the 1976s Burgundy listings are actual photos of bottles/MAGNUMS, in impeccable condition. Have a great start to the week.

20/5/2021: The Collector's Stash - Hard to Find Assortments

Today, we are offering wines from a single collector. The wines range from Old World to New World, coming from Bordeaux, Rhone, New Zealand and Australia. All the wine prices are so attractively, it's hard to resist. Most of them are ready to drink, with some of their drinking window just open.

As more are working from home now, let WineBond deliver the wines to you. If you need contactless delivery, just inform us and we will arrange accordingly.

18/5/2021: Spot Offer: Californian Collection-The Big Bold and Beautiful

Call it Circuit Breaker 1.5 or 2.0....whatever it is, we hope you continue to stay safe as this is a reminder that the Pandemic is far from over. Changes loom ahead. Let's keep our fingers crossed, everything will resume back to normal soon.

In this week's spot offer, we go back to offer some "Big Bold and Beautiful" Californian wines. Some amazing offers today: a nice parcel of Hourglass Cabernets, some say reminiscent of Colgin's Tychson Hill Vineyard. We also have some rare MAGNUM bottlings of Hourglass Cabernets so don't miss.

Next are few bottles of 2000 and 2002 Abreu Madrona Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon. Brad Grimes (winemaker) is such a talented individual, and my meeting with him two years ago in Singapore gave me so much pleasure and knowledge, when we opened some of the early vintages of Madrona and Thorevilos. Totally amazed how well Abreu's wines age.

Blankiet Estate which I had been drinking for years. I met Claude Blankiet in my visit to Napa Valley in 2009, and this vintage was one which I did the harvest along with the late Denis Malbec in St Helena. A vintage that is always close to my heart. Some back vintages (before it was changed to a Proprietary red, it was in fact 100% Cabernet Sauvignon), also available in today's offer.

Some dark, brooding Gemstone Proprietary Reds, a wine that is built for the long haul, and lastly a rare offering of 2005 Joseph Phelps Insignia.

Stay Safe and hang in there!

12/5/2021: Massive Italian Wine Collection from a few Prestigious Collectors

It took a while for this dream list to come together, and boy do I like this! In this week's marketplace offers, we manage to consolidate these wines from a few prestigious collectors, this is a "DREAM LIST".....Just to name some: Gaja, Domenico Clerico, Altesino, Valdicava, Antinori (Solaia), Gianfranco Soldera, Fontodi, Quintarelli.....All WOW producers IMHO....Do spot and look through the Italian offers this week and remember to log in your account in our marketplace to buy. Don't miss as it is still "Fastest Finger First" !

11/5/2021: Spot Offer: Bordeaux Assortments from an En Primeur Collector

En Primeur.....in these words, I've had some of my best experiences running the campaigns back in the days of late 2000s, when we would sit by our laptop at 4pm Singapore time to wait for the prices and releases of the different growths, and offers would go out immediately to clients. It was one of the busiest period of the year, for any wine importer who was running the EP campaign. Instead of buying wines from secondary market, wines from En Primeur is THE best guarantee one can get, knowing that the wines all come ex-Chateau. When we mention wines from En Primeur, prestige definitely comes to one's mind.

In this week's spot offer, we have some loose Bordeaux bottles which came from a respectable En Primeur collector. These bottles were shipped from source to Singapore (in reefer container), and straight to storage in WineBond. The wines had never left here since it landed, and they possibly have the best provenance anyone can ask for. The owner had decided to let go of some loose bottles from his En Primeur collection of 2009s and 2010s (also some 2008 and 2011), so don't miss these!

6/5/2021: Rare Burgundy Collection with Marvelous Californian Pinot Noir

In this week's Burgundy offer, the listings came from a good friend whom I have known for a long time. We've shared some really good Californian and Italian wines together and he always had a good collection of wines, from old world to new world. When I approach him and asked if he would consider listing some Burgundies, he sent a list immediately, and here we have a Burgundy offer!

These hard to come by bottles (though only few bottles but prices are really good) are not to be missed, if you are a Burg or Pinot Noir fan, we also have some marvelous and well drinking Californian Pinot Noirs (Sea smoke, Kosta Browne, Martinelli). Don't miss the offers this week.....and continue to stay safe!

4/5/2021: Spot Offer: 2004 Clarendon Hills Assortment Collection

Clarendon Hills is a small family run winery founded by biochemist Roman Bratasiuk in 1990 is still owned and sustained by the self-taught winemaker and proprietor. Today, his sons Alex and Adam are gradually taking over responsibilities in the winery. Considered a maverick within the Australian industry, Roman has irrevocably changed the landscape of Australian fine wine.

In this week's spot offer, we have a pristine assortment collection of 2004 Clarendon Hills' wines. Don't miss these impeccable bottles!

29/4/2021: Assortment Collection Not to be Missed

This week, we put together an assortment of wines from Spain, Italy, France and California. All had been stored by collectors here in WineBond. Most of these wines are already in their drinking window, and also searching for new owners. Included in this week's offer, a listing of three wines by Domaine Santa Duc (Rhone), all from the highly acclaimed 2007 vintage. Don't miss these limited bottles!

22/4/2021: 2013 and 2014 Cappellano Barbera d'Alba Gabutti

Each year, Piedmont die-hards eagerly await the release from the Cappellano family in Serralunga d’Alba. In a zone so seduced by modern methods over the past two decades, Cappellano is the rare estate that never made concessions to technologies, never changed their wines to suit the fashion of the times. Teobaldo Cappellano was a strong-willed iconoclast who decried the modernity of these methods upon Italian wines during his time. A profound reverence for tradition and shifting away from the mania of new wood and intrusive technology which swept the region, he served to retain his old-school spirit. Augusto who helm Cappellano after Teobaldo passed away, kept old-style methods of vinification and labeling. Like his father, he kept wine writers from his cellars unless they agree to forgo the standard numerical rating system for his wines. He understands the jewel he has inherited and works tirelessly to preserve its magic. The wines from his tiny cellar: spirited, deeply traditional, full of life.

From a young man deeply mourning his larger-than-life father’s presence to a grower with a crystal-clear vision of both the tradition which flows through him and of the kind of wine he wants to craft. The small changes he has made: slightly shortening the passage in botti due to a warming climate hastening the wines’ evolution; pruning less aggressively with a mind to prolonging the lifespan of his vines. These had served to enhance the purity of his wines.

15/4/2021: Piedmont and Tuscany Collection to Love 3000

Thank you for your support for WineBond's marketplace. In our last Bordeaux wine offer, we thank you for the great response. This week we continue with a huge Piedmont and Tuscany collection (all looking for love 3000 from new owners). The three "B"s as we like to call it: Barolos, Barbarescos and Brunellos.....A rare listing of 2008 Giacosa's Barolo Riserva Le Rocche de Falleto: A wine that is always on allocation even from the distributor. Three listings of Gaja wines: 99 and 04 Sperss and 07 Costa Russi. Don't miss these if you are a Gaja fan!

Couple of Brunellos from 2004 to 2006. I still remember the days when I would receive the vintage review in a magazine via snail mail (Gone are those days). But these producers are no strangers: Altesino, Fuligni, Siro Pacenti, Valdicava....

2004 is a vintage for wines of concentration with good aging potential. On the contrary, 2005 was a difficult vintage but some overcome the odds to produce well-drinking wines that are still holding well today. And finally, 2006 which made balanced wines of aging potential. (Look for the Valdicava's...amazing prices). Thanks to many savvy connoisseurs whom are storing with WineBond, we are seeing these wines on our marketplace. Price as always in our marketplace, is competitive and you get these wines of utmost trusted provenance. Wines will be available within a few working days once you purchase online. Looking forward to your support!
